Lakeshore Data Systems Inc. is incorporated in Ontario and based in Tecumseh. We design connected sensor hardware, the firmware that runs on it, and the cloud services behind it.
Most connected equipment is a dashboard bolted onto a machine that was never designed to talk. When something goes wrong at three in the afternoon on a hot weekend, the dashboard tells you after the damage is done. We start from the other end: put the intelligence on the equipment, and let the phone be a window on it.
Our first product is Pool Queen. It is sold and serviced through local pool stores, and we expect to follow it with more products of the same kind.

Four principles
Equipment first
We read the machine itself, not a schedule or a guess. If the equipment can tell us something, we listen at the source.
Decide on the device
Safety rules run where the equipment is. A lost connection or a wrong tap on a phone cannot override them.
Alerts that say what to do
An alert names the consequence and lists what to check. A notification that only says something is wrong is not finished.
Work with the trades
The people who install and service equipment keep the customer relationship. We build the tools that make them better at it.
